A booklet highlighting the beauty of Korean crafts
Organized by the Seoul Design Foundation, "DDP Design Collection" is a book on the product development projects with eight professional designers and handicraft artisans on five materials: bronzeware(yugi), earthenware(onggi), lacquerware(ottchil), haji and leather. Proposed objects aim to make life more abundant and useful by implementing traditional techniques and suggesting new usages in the present. Gold spot colors were used in title pages and spreads containing portraits to amplify the stories of artisans and designers who participated in the project. Contents of each material are distincted and structured with design hierarchies into three categories: the introduction of artisans, their works, and sketches of their production process. Papers used for the book were selected after careful consideration to offer a comfortable reading experience in folded spreads containing product photography.

A refined layout system with balance and harmony
The book is structured in three stages, utilizing a clear hierarchical layout to distinguish the introduction of artisans by material, their profession, and sketches depicting their working process. Gold accents are applied to section dividers and portraits to highlight the stories of artisans and professional designers. Additionally, a paperweight suitable for smooth page-turning is used for the folded product photography section.
